Wake Forest Arts

Wake Forest Arts supports local artists and existing art programs throughout our community and encourages new arts ventures. We are a section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which was founded as the Wake Forest Cultural Arts Association in 1990 and is currently an all-volunteer organization.

Wake Forest Arts is funded through grants from the Town of Wake Forest and by business and individual contributions and corporate sponsorship. Our organization serves as a foundation to accept charitable contributions and secure grants for arts programming at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts.

Wake Forest Arts organizes the annual Six Sundays in Spring outdoor concert series, the Neck of the Woods variety show, the Music at Midday concert series, the Wake Forest Holiday Artisans’ Market and the Kids Kraft program. We assist with the Mardi Gras Festival, the Dirt Day Festival, the Wake Forest Youth Connect conference, and the Mad Hatters’ Artist & Garden Tour.

Wake Forest Arts partners with the Wake Forest Guild of Artists to promote the visual arts and artists in our community. The Guild provides, through fellowship and general member meetings, a sense of camaraderie and offers educational seminars and participation in 2-D and 3-D art events.

Wake Forest Arts supports the Wake Forest Children’s Choir. The vocal ensemble Wake Forest Singers and the Forest Moon Theater started under the umbrella of Wake Forest Arts. Our latest venture is the Wake Forest Dance Festival scheduled to debut at E. Carroll Joyner Park on September 30, 2017.

Calendar posting policy

For the Wake Forest Arts calendar we will accept arts-related postings, at our discretion, from local organizations or businesses. “Local” means north of the Neuse river and within a 20 mile radius of Wake Forest (this includes Rolesville, Creedmoor, Franklinton, Louisburg, Zebulon…) Events that are outside this area but have a Wake Forest connection (e.g. a performance or show by a Wake Forest resident) may also be included. In general, the postings may be for free- or paid-admission events hosted by non-profit organizations, or for free events hosted by for-profit organizations.
