Spend an evening at Wake Forest’s beautiful E. Carroll Joyner Park with Mel Melton & The Wicked Mojos, a smokin’ Zydeco/Cajun flavored blues band from right here in North Carolina. They’ll perform a free concert on Sunday, Sept. 7 as part of Wake Forest’s annual “Wake Forest Unplugged…Get Connected” initiative. The concert is presented by PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, and co-sponsored by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County, and Wake Forest Arts. The event features free games and activities beginning at 4 p.m., with the concert beginning at 5 p.m. See the town’s web page for more information.
