Another “Neck of the Woods” evening November 10th, 2012

Do you like to laugh? You won’t want to miss our next show on Saturday, November 10th at 7 pm! Local comedian Josh Goguen returns to the Neck of the Woods stage. Come see the debut of the Neck of the Woods Players! Actors Colleen Ann Guest, John Hodge, Josh Hemphill, and Cora Hemphill will be presenting David Ives’ comedic one-act “Captive Audience”. Also, enjoy the beautiful music of local singer songwriter Crystal Dawn Baker. This particular performance is rated PG-13. The show is free to all, but we do suggest a $5 per person donation to support these great artists and their work. As usual, the performance is held upstairs at The Wake Forest Coffee Co. Please come a few minutes early so that you won’t miss any of these talented performers.

We need your help! This performance series is put together by volunteers who love art and desire to share it. We have no funding, so spreading the word can be a challenge. Bring a friend to the show and help support local art!

November Featured Artists:

Josh Goguen is twisted, unapologetic and completely unafraid to say anything he thinks is funny. Despite his disregard for traditional boundaries, he manages to be friendly and likable with his laid-back, opinionated style. He has a special gift for tying subjects together in a way you will never see coming. Over the years, Josh has been honored to share the stage with many of his favorite comedians. Currently, he is working on a cartoon pilot with a good friend.

Singer-songwriter, vocalist, and producer Crystal Dawn Baker is a quickly emerging Raleigh, NC based artist. With a multitude of influences, her vocal style is unique and can easily range from pop, blues, folk, jazz, rock, soul, and country. Crystal has a deeply passionate and beautiful voice. Her songs captivate with striking soul. Crystal has just begun recording a new solo album to be released in 2013.

Colleen Ann Guest is a strong supporter of the local Wake Forest Community and is delighted to perform in her second Neck of the Woods show! She has also appeared on other Triangle stages including Raleigh Little Theater, Stillwater Theater, The Justice Theater Project, and Cary Players. In addition, she’s been cast in many independent films, provided voice overs for film and commercial clients, and is featured prominently in many national industrial films. Her latest venture, which proves a person is never really too old to start something new, is print and runway modeling. Colleen thanks her husband, Neel, for his support and patience while she pursues her passion, her wonderful agent at Talent One for believing in her, and she gives all glory to Jesus Christ! Romans 5:8

The Neck of the Woods Players is an informal group of people who want to do theatre in Wake Forest. John Hodge, Josh Hemphill and Cora Hemphill are all alumni from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School’s Theatre Troupe. Now more than 10 years later, engineer, appraiser, and stay-at-home mom take the stage once again.
