Award-winning jazz musician Marcus Anderson will take the stage at the season opener April 29 for this year’s Six Sundays in Spring concert series in Wake Forest. The most-talked about performer in Six Sunday’s history, Anderson wowed the crowd with his talents on the saxophone as well as his energy and performance.
We have also made several other exciting changes to this year’s event. Six Sundays in Spring will take place each Sunday from April 29 through June 3 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, Wake Forest. The expanded time will allow for a local band of a similar genre to be featured as the opener before the headlining group. “I am very pleased to bring both local talents and more regional talent this year,” said Wake Forest ARTS board member Lauri Arntsen. “All of the bands come with a successful history, a solid passion and a genuine cultural vibe that will appeal to the masses”
In addition to a full afternoon of live music, attendees will also be able to see other talents the area offers. This year, an Artist Market will display works of art from a number of area artists in the community. CDs for the bands as well as artist’s wares will be available for purchase along with refreshments. Mark your calendars: April 29 is the kickoff!
